Set Project: Geometric Artist Research

AMILA HRUSTIC

What always inspired me the most is endless creativity that we can definitely notice in designator Amila Hrustic. Her Plato collection isn't something we could wear every day, yet is one of the most inspiring works I have ever seen. Intended for stage performances or other special purposes introduces uniqueness and freshness. The fact that her creations are handmade makes her work even more appreciated. 

Alice Ziccheddu

Another designer that's worth mentioning is Alice Ziccheddu that uses 3D in order to reproduce textures and volumes belonging to the natural world. Knitted Scarfs are a casual element of daily clothing however add style and completeness to the whole look.

Fred Butler 

Uses bright origami paper art which attracts the attention of the viewer.

Vibrant colours are a very important feature of his collection. There are mainly jewellery and headpieces. Small elements usually make a huge difference and this case proves it.

Diana Gamboa

Next and the last of the artists I would like to mention here is Diana Gamboa. Her collection literally took my breath away and I can't get enough of her imagination.

Her preferred fabrics to work with are tatting, crochet, macramè, paper and thread. 

Her style is very“chaotic”, characterized by contrasts of colours, shapes and textures. Somehow when you look at her work it all makes the precious ensemble.

Summarizing I have always been a fan of creativity and searching for own ideas. Artists presented above definitely belong to such and their broad horizons can be seen in numerous achievements. 

As we can see the geometry can be used not only in architecture but also in fashion, which makes this field one of the greatest directions in the history of art.

Set Project: Artist Research

Adriana Degreas is a Brazilian designer. 
She is known for her swimsuits.
The company is based in São Paulo. Although her work is sold internationally, 73% of Brazil's sales were published in 2018.
Adriana Degreas is a leading company in the world, offering mainly luxury beachwear. Known for aesthetics, unique designs.
Adriana combines fashionable Brazilian heritage with innovative shapes and cuts and presents a new vintage-contemporary element with retro elements for unusual women.
Her collection is just incredibly special the one from 2015 and 2013.
All cutting patterns, colours, design. I never see anything like that. She uses a lot of geometric and I can see that she is focused on every single detail to make sure that everything fits perfectly. 

Fashion designers are mathematicians. They use a lot of geometry, e.g. lines, triangles, squares, circles.
They are spiky, angular and come in three variants, as any good mathematician knows.
Triangles have long been a favourite shape – from everything like t-shirts in the main street stores to classic triangle riffs breaking down the dark side of Moon Pink Floyd, to Jil Sander's pyramids.

To summarise Triangles will be always on the top and they will never go out from trends.

Set Project: Initial Ideas

Christopher Kane

For Autumn Winter 2020, the designer channelled sex and nature principles by concentrating on Adam and Eve's storey in the Garden of Eden, depicted as a passionate triangle that represents man, woman, and nature. These were Kane's seasonal muses which revealed his most sophisticated interpretation of sexuality to date. 

Kane focused on a triangle in this season, he said, "The triangle is the most powerful, strongest shape in nature" (Mover, 2020)
The triangulation is seen in bold and minute ways in the set, from cutouts to motifs to slits and splices.
Christopher Kane inspired me to use a triangle in my project. It will be really interesting because I will just use the materials I currently have at home.
Geometric Fashion is a fashion trend that offers a perfect way to build an ordinary and unique wardrobe. 
In my design, I would like to put all the triangles together, using different fabrics. However, the triangle will definitely dominate in my collection.

Final Show: Poster

I create my poster in Canva. It is very similar to my logo.

In the presentation on Blackboard, I notice that Ludwig Mies Van Der Rohe says "less is better" so I decided to make a minimalist poster.

My background includes colours from my mood board and my logo. One of the colours is orange.

I think it looks very simple and has all the details to convey like an art show, venue, date and times.

I believe that this is all that I should include on my poster, however, I did some changes. In the next poster, I add some picture and change the title of the show.

This exhibition will be virtual gallery and video, not sketchbook because I didn't add any sketches. It will be all about video and dance pictures.

Final show: Logo

I start making my logo in Canva. 

Canva is very easy to use and has many choices. You can add an image, add text, video, background etc. However, not everything is for free. 

For some picture or ikons, you need to pay.  

My logo is clear and simple. I use orange colour, like in my mood board, the contour of Africa and the name of my shows, African Dance.

It was my first thought, but this logo tells nothing about me. I decided to change my logo, I wanted people to know it's my shows, and this time it looks much better.

My logo looks excellent. I didn't want anything complicated. I wanted to create something that is going to attract the eyes and I hope I did.

Set Project: Sign Off

Time to sign off!

I have made up my mind and now I am adding my project sign up:  Futuristic Fantasy

I keep looking for more inspiration and I will definitely update my post.

The main thing is to determine which media I should use. I don't know if I can use a few, but I certainly have to make a decision until the end of this week. 

Set Project: Project Plan

   

Project Plan

I made my project plan in Venngage. It was very easy and helpful,  however, it wasn't for free. I use the Snipping Tool to take a screenshot and add my project plan to the blog. This program is quite good because you have a lot of categories, you can change the icons, add text, change the design and much much more.

In week 2-3 I will look for some artist to get some inspiration for my project. 

Week 4 - I will do some more research about futurism clothes, underwear to find something interesting pattern which I can use to create my collection.

Week 5 - I will do some sketches (bra, panties, bodysuit and harness)

Week 6 - I will keep drawing and start slowly to create my panties. I change mind and I decided to do panties instead of a bra.

Week 7 - I will still be creating the panties. 

Week 8 and 9 is the big final. I will check if I have everything that I need to present my Major Project.
