Set Project: My Artist Statement

I should add this Artist Statement at the end of my flipbook but I did not have time to do it. I decided to add it here on my blog to show you my lingerie related story.

My Artist Statement:

I've always had trouble finding underwear that suits my needs. It is too common in stores to find stuffed bras with thick pillows that visually enlarge breasts that clearly don't look natural.
I am a big fan of underwear without pads so that it can emphasize the natural beauty and qualities of our bodies. Some time ago I discovered harness-style underwear. This is the kind of lingerie that I love. They can be worn under clothing or even on top. It is brave and very sexy lingerie.
Flexible straps and delicate materials give it extraordinary piquancy. Such underwear should be well fitted to our figure so that it looks sexy and seductive. I think a woman in such underwear is to be enslaved, and the man feels like a conqueror.

Set Project: Website Preparation

I would like to demonstrate how I am updating my website to show my ideas as best as possible.
On the Gallery page, I added another section which name is Dark Mysteries.
This is my Futuristic Fantasy collection which I would like to present to you.

This is how looks my flipbook as a gif.

In the end, I decided to change my background on the website.
It looks much better with grey colour.

Set Project: 3D Development

To create my Futuristic Knickers I used a few techniques of stitching.
I use a straight stitch, intermittent zigzag and hand stitches.

Straight stitch, as the name suggests - it's simple. We can use it for virtually anything, but not for hemming. This stitch can be made by hand, but it's very difficult to make it evenly.

I used a simple stitch to sew elastic straps to my panties. It is not perfect because I am still learning how to use a sawing machine.

Intermittent zigzag - Three-Step Zigzag. It's elastic stitches, allowing you to sew elastic materials, knitwear, eliminating wrinkling when sewing elastic and stretchable fabrics.
A three-step zigzag stitch works more in a series of tiny straight stitches and This prevents the side-to-side pulling.

Hand stitches - Running stitch is one of the most basic stitches.
This stitch can be worked in straight or curved lines or for assembly when finishing an embroidery project. It even works well for top-stitching something by hand, giving it a charming edging (Johanson, 2020).

My knickers are ready and I can't wait to show you how they fit on.

Final Show: Reflection

Traditional stationary exhibitions are still the dominant form of learning about art and culture. Internet and social media meant that all participants in the art market received completely new opportunities. An example is a virtual exhibition that anyone can really use, however, is not the same as a traditional one.
Of course, it's a lot of advantages and disadvantages, but I prefer a traditional version because you can feel the art and see every single detail.
The exhibition is a great opportunity to show my love and passion for dance.
It's not easy because it's a real feat to create such a show. Music, lighting, an appropriate location are very important, but I think it is worth spending more time so that the exhibition was unique and kept in mind.
My exhibition will consist of dance choreography and photographs reflecting the energy of dance performers. The place I chose is the LCB Depot because this is the place that attracts a lot of people.
LCB supports all creative industries and builds a community by bringing together artists, designers and creators-from students and emerging talents to local, national and international specialists.
"Light never felt more powerful when it was in the hands of James Turrell" (Chin, 2017), he used the medium of light. I 'd like my background to be highlighted in positive cheerful colours like the light of James Turrell.
I believe this light is going to be perfect for my exhibition. I want to show you what I like, what I feel when I dance. I express it all through the exhibition, the music, the colourful lighting and the atmosphere that I want to bring to everyone for a moment.
The preparations are very exciting, but they require a lot of work, so I think the moodboard here is very helpful. This is where I can present my ideas and concepts for the exhibition. I hope that someday in the future I will have the opportunity to create my own exhibition, which is already in my imagination. It would attract a lot of people, especially dancers and people interested in African music and culture.
This is my first exhibition plan, my first logo, my first poster, my invitation, my advertisement, which is extremely important at this time. I have chosen Instagram. I think this is one of the most popular social media in the world these days, the most crowded. A lot of people can really attract a lot of people by the appropriate hashtag.
Unfortunately, this is just a project. At the moment, I don't have the opportunity to create my own exhibition, and I don't really know what's good or bad, but I think I can make a really good show by the method of trial and error.
In the future, I would make a better poster, colourful, with more interest, a better invitation, and I would really advertise wherever I can-social media, cafes, restaurants, dance clubs or theatre. I'm sure people would have walked out of pure curiosity after such an advertisement.
Thanks to this lesson, I got to know how to create an exhibition from the inside out. Now I'm going to look at the exhibition from a different perspective. I'm going to pay attention to every detail because I know how to create a show like this.

Set Project: 2D Outcomes

In this post, I will show my 2D outcomes.
Four sketches of my collection: Bodysuit, Bra, Harness and Knickers.
My collection is in black. Mainly made of elastic straps.
The elastic strap fits nice underwear and is also with a claw. This is futuristic lingerie and who knows, maybe in the future, we will be only wearing stripes without any extra fabric.

The bodysuit has a lot of clearances and is held in the back thanks to the strap that connects the neck with panties.

Bralette inspires by bikini top and is ultra-comfortable and lightweight.
Non-padded cups and it's made it with polyamide (64%), polyester (25%) and elastane (11%)I add strappy on the waist. They fit around the bottom ribcage. More straps on the waist, arms and shoulders make the bralette very unique.
Harness made it by elastic straps and my final piece of my Major Project which is knickers - Brazilian knickers with elastic straps like a harness.
They are very soft black mesh knickers with adjustable waist straps and low rise.
Fabric: 92% Nylon and  8% Spandex.

Set Project: 3D Development

Futuristic Brazilian Knickers this is what I decided to create.
Brazilian knickers are a bikini-thong cross between them. The hips are low with a broadside and a detail of the back. They are low but very sexy.

To my project, I use my old knickers which I never wear before because they were too small. I added some elastic straps from both sides to make them bigger and more comfortable.
I made a harness from elastic straps and my old bra straps which I can adjust in the waist

They are very soft black mesh knickers with adjustable waist straps and low rise.
Fabric: 92% Nylon and  8% Spandex.

That was my first idea, to create knickers with the legs harness but I change my
mind.

I use my old knickers and I rip them on the sides. I use elastic straps on both sides to make them a little bit bigger.

I added additional triangles so that the knickers hold the whole construction

I was using manikin which I borrow from my friend to see more clearly my vision which I had in my head

This project is nearly finished and I can't wait for the final piece.

Final Show: My Artist Statement

This is my Artis Pro Forma: Pro Forma

This is my first Artist Statment:

My name is Wanda Sienko and I am a Dancer.
From being a toddler trying to keep my balance whilst I bounced around to my adulthood I have always felt the need to move, it was music that gave me a purpose to do so. Although I love many types of music it is an African dance that influences me the most. The energy that flows from the music tends to possess me and for this reason, I like to choreograph my own dances.
Although it can be a long process it is a very enjoyable one, from choosing the right song to the vividly colourful outfits and spending hour after hour getting the moves in sync, when it all comes together on a beautifully edited video to share with the world this is what makes the effort worth it.
