Traditional stationary exhibitions are still the dominant form of learning about art and culture. Internet and social media meant that all participants in the art market received completely new opportunities. An example is a virtual exhibition that anyone can really use, however, is not the same as a traditional one.
Of course, it's a lot of advantages and disadvantages, but I prefer a traditional version because you can feel the art and see every single detail.
The exhibition is a great opportunity to show my love and passion for dance.
It's not easy because it's a real feat to create such a show. Music, lighting, an appropriate location are very important, but I think it is worth spending more time so that the exhibition was unique and kept in mind.
My exhibition will consist of dance choreography and photographs reflecting the energy of dance performers. The place I chose is the LCB Depot because this is the place that attracts a lot of people.
LCB supports all creative industries and builds a community by bringing together artists, designers and creators-from students and emerging talents to local, national and international specialists.
"Light never felt more powerful when it was in the hands of James Turrell" (Chin, 2017), he used the medium of light. I 'd like my background to be highlighted in positive cheerful colours like the light of James Turrell.
I believe this light is going to be perfect for my exhibition. I want to show you what I like, what I feel when I dance. I express it all through the exhibition, the music, the colourful lighting and the atmosphere that I want to bring to everyone for a moment.
The preparations are very exciting, but they require a lot of work, so I think the moodboard here is very helpful. This is where I can present my ideas and concepts for the exhibition. I hope that someday in the future I will have the opportunity to create my own exhibition, which is already in my imagination. It would attract a lot of people, especially dancers and people interested in African music and culture.
This is my first exhibition plan, my first logo, my first poster, my invitation, my advertisement, which is extremely important at this time. I have chosen Instagram. I think this is one of the most popular social media in the world these days, the most crowded. A lot of people can really attract a lot of people by the appropriate hashtag.
Unfortunately, this is just a project. At the moment, I don't have the opportunity to create my own exhibition, and I don't really know what's good or bad, but I think I can make a really good show by the method of trial and error.
In the future, I would make a better poster, colourful, with more interest, a better invitation, and I would really advertise wherever I can-social media, cafes, restaurants, dance clubs or theatre. I'm sure people would have walked out of pure curiosity after such an advertisement.
Thanks to this lesson, I got to know how to create an exhibition from the inside out. Now I'm going to look at the exhibition from a different perspective. I'm going to pay attention to every detail because I know how to create a show like this.
