Final Show: Media Strategy and Curation

Preparing an exhibition is an important moment in the life of every artist. Many factors contribute to a successful vernissage and the exhibition itself. However, there is no doubt that apart from its main characters - works of art, a huge role is played, among others, by location.

The location should be the background highlighting the beauty of the artists' work.
Particularly important is the aesthetics of the interior in which my works will be presented, as well as the location of the exhibition space. A good location will undoubtedly affect the number of visitors to the exhibition and the popularization of my works.

One of the places that attract many people is LCB DEPOT. It is a place where really anyone can show their talent. Exhibitions such as Last Friday are on the last Friday of the month and are free.
LCB supports all creative industries and builds a community by connecting artists, designers and creators - from students and emerging talents to local, national and international specialists.

The organization of the exhibition cannot take place without the most important - preparing the works. When I will organizing a video and photography exhibition, I must consider the quality of the work.
Lighting and professional spotlighting of exhibits that direct viewers' attention to individual works. Music will accompany visitors to the exhibition will also be important. It should be subdued and calm to ensure that art recipients have the opportunity to have a quiet conversation.
My Music must arouse interest and reach the audience because my exhibition will consist mainly of video. That is why I would like people to feel like in Africa, to feel a positive energy that dance gives me.
Another important element is the arrangement of the exhibits so that they form a coherent whole, and visitors have comfortable access to them.
I would like to invite everyone to my exhibition but I think that a group of interested people will be in the 25-35 age range.
Not everyone likes this type of music but of course, the exhibition is open to everyone.
The promotion has a huge impact on the number of visitors.
I think that I will be tempted to prepare an event poster and promotional banners, which I will be able to hang, for example, on information poles or in places related to the subject of the exhibition, or in places visited frequently.
Social Media - through them in a convenient and relatively way we can reach a wide group of people or direct our message to a precisely defined target group.
We live in a world where social media can't hide. Instagram, Facebook and Snapchat rapidly changed our world. It also changed how we absorb, view, and interpret art. In the past photography was banned for fear of destroying valuable objects or violating copyright. Today it's allowed and supported by museums and galleries.
The way we communicate with collections and museums of art has changed with social media. Obviously, while caution should be exercised given the role of social media in the cultural field, it would be foolish not to think seriously about it while preparing, curing and selling exhibitions in our present era. Visitors should be careful when using social media to avoid negatively impacting others' interactions, but how people choose art and museums should be at their discretion.

I would advertise my exhibition mainly on Instagram because it focuses on visual content, photos and short films published on the profile or as part of the so-called Instastories. It is ideal for documenting subsequent exhibitions or presentations of works of art for example photographs, sculptures, paintings, ceramics, etc. Instagram's potential lies in its community, which in 2018 exceeded 1 billion users. There are many art collectors, gallerists, artistic managers or entrepreneurs for whom the review of favourite hashtags has become a daily routine. An interesting profile of an artist on Instagram is not only a chance to attract new fans but also clients or business partners.

I would like my background to be all highlighted in positive cheerful colours.
James Turrell 's hands light. He has extended parameters of contemporary art using light as a medium as one of the leaders in the Light and Space movement from Southern California.

I believe this light will be perfect for my exhibition. I still can't decide which colour I should choose because I really like all of them.
I was looking for many tips about exhibitions and not many people talk about music and background which is very important because it affects our well-being.
